Circle A offers guided horseback riding through scenic, 3,800 acre Allaire Park. They are open 7 days a week, year round. Their summer hours are from 9am to 6pm and all other times from 9am to 4pm. The cost is $40 per person, per hour. They wouldn't tell me the amount of horses they house, but assured me that they could easily handle a group of 30 people wanting to ride!

Double D Ranch is a Western riding experience back East. We offer the best riding in New Jersey. Come try riding like you never have before! If you don’t know how to ride -- that’s OK come early and we’ll show you how. Your guide will make sure that your experience meets your expectations. Come as you are, but If you have boots or shoes with heels on them that is preferable. They offer One Hour Rides, 2 Hour Rides, 1/2 Day Rides, Full Day Rides or stay overnight for a campout!

The Somerset County Park Commission’s Lord Stirling Stable offers English riding lessons to people starting at age 9 and up for Beginner riders though Jumping levels. Riders must be under 240 pounds. Horse rentals are available to riders who can post the trot and feel secure and comfortable at the canter. Trail guide led trail rides are available and conducted according to the abilities of the riders in the group. Please call for days and times. An ASTM/SEI approved riding helmet and hard smooth soled boots with a definite heel are required and available for rental. Lord Stirling Stable also offers Introductory Rides, Moonlight Rides, Nature Rides, Mother and Father’s Day Rides as well as many other special events. Lord Stirling Stable’s Pony Parties and Pony Rides are very popular. Please call for further information.

Spring Valley offers guided trail riding through picturesque woods, lakes and they have access to the Paulenskill Trail which is a NJ state maintained former rail bed. It is about 26 miles of glorious riding. They are open from about 9am to 5pm everyday, closed during the winter. The cost is $25 per person, per hour.

Sunset stables is a beautiful barn, which houses 35+ horses, they do Lessons, Shows, Clinics, Pony Rides, and comming soon, Pony Parties. They do lessons of all ages, and experince levels. They also do all diciplins, such as English, Western, Dressage, Etc. What ever intrest of riding your into, they do it all!

Triple R Ranch offers one hour guided horseback riding on a wooded trail. Ride times are everyday at 9:30, 11, 1, 2:30, 4 and 6 year round. The cost is $25 per person, per hour. They also have pony rides for the younger children and they are geared more for the non-experienced rider than the experienced. They provide their facility for birthday parties, clubs etc. In order for children to go on a trail ride they have to be 10 years of age.

Washington Stables offers public Horseback Trail Riding & Pony Rides every Sat & Sun with no reservations needed.   Trail rides are available for 30, 60, & 90 minute rides.   Check out our signature service: The Couple's Riding Package: for $99 you get a 30 minute riding lesson & a 60 minute trail ride for two people! Watchung Stables

Watchung Stables houses 50-60 horses and offers guided trail riding through the picturesque Watchung Reservations. They are only open on Sundays from Early April to Late November. The ride times are 1pm and 2:15 during the summer and 2pm and 3:15pm each week on a first come, first served basis (times may change, so call before going). The cost is $20 pp for Union County residents and $26 pp for out of county.
